Quick pickled Jalapenos

Ingredients – Quick jalapenos

  • jalapenos
  • peppers or carrots to make them spicy! (optional)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup apple vinegar (at least 5% acidity)
  • I tablespoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard seeds

Alternative 1

  • fresh basil leaves (Add in the jar and not together with the previous ingredients that go in the pot!)

Alternative 2

  • dried oregano (Add in the jar and not together with the previous ingredients that go in the pot!)

Alternative 3

  • parsley (Add in the jar and not together with the previous ingredients that go in the pot!)

Steps

  • Boil the ingredients
  • Place the jalapenos in the jar and whatever else you will be using! Carrots or peppers and whatever spices! – If you use basil, place it close to the walls of the jar cause it will look beautiful!)
  • Fill the jar with the brine
  • Put it upside down
  • Store it in the fridge! I didn´t sterilize the jars, so it needs to be stored in the fridge
  • Leave it in the vinegar before opening it at least 2 weeks!
  • Consume it in 4-6 months.
