
Too many green tomatoes still on your plants? Pickle them!
Ingredients
- green (unripe) tomatoes
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup apple vinegar (at least 5% acidity)
- I tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon mustard seeds
- 1 tablespoon black pepper seeds
- optionally fresh basil leaves
Steps
- Boil all the ingredients
- Place the tomatoes in the jar (the basil also if you are using it! – Place it close to the walls of the jar cause it will look beautiful!)
- Fill the jar with the brine
- Put it upside down
- Store it in the fridge! I didn´t sterilize the jars, so it needs to be stored in the fridge
- Leave it in the vinegar before opening it at least 2 weeks!
- Eat within 4-6 months.
