
Ingredients
- carrots
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup apple vinegar (at least 5% acidity)
- I tablespoon salt
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- peppers of different color (optional)
- chili pepper if you want to make it spicy
Alternative 1
- 1 tablespoon mustard seeds
- 1 tablespoon black pepper if you do not use chili pepper
- fresh basil leaves (Do not boil them! Add them in the jar)
Alternative 2
- dried oregano (Do not boil! Add them in the jar)
- 1 tablespoon black pepper if you do not use chili pepper
Alternative 3
- Cloves (Do not boil them! Add them in the jar)
- 1 tablespoon black pepper if you do not use chili pepper
Alternative 4
- fresh ginger
- 1 teaspoon dried coriander (Do not boil ! Add them in the jar)
- 1 tablespoon black pepper if you do not use chili pepper
Steps
- Boil all the ingredients, that are supposed to be boiled
- Place the carrots in the jar and whatever else you will be using! Chili or peppers and whatever spices! – If you use basil, place it close to the walls of the jar cause it will look beautiful!)
- Fill the jar with the brine
- Put it upside down
- Store it in the fridge! I didn´t sterilize the jars, so it needs to be stored in the fridge
- Leave it in the vinegar before opening it at least 2 weeks!
