💧 Water Conservation & Eco-Tips

Islands like Naxos face serious water shortages during the dry summer months. Because we rely on limited natural springs and local reservoirs, every single drop matters.

We kindly ask you to practice mindful water use during your stay to help preserve our beautiful village ecosystem:

• Mind the Taps: Please turn off the water while brushing your teeth, soaping your hands, or washing dishes in the kitchen sink.
• Keep Showers Short: Aim for shorter, refreshing showers. If you are staying in the Two-Terrace apartment, we highly recommend utilizing the exterior outdoor shower—rinsing off under the open sky is an incredible island experience, but please remember to turn the valve completely off when finished.
• The Pass-Through Window Trick: If you are staying in the Sunset apartment , use the kitchen window over the sink to easily pass stacked dishes inside. Try to scrape food scraps into the bin before rinsing to minimize the amount of water needed to clean plates.
• Report Any Leaks: If you notice a dripping faucet, a running toilet, or an outdoor pipe leak, please notify us immediately. We are always nearby and happy to come fix it as soon as possible.

Remember that at Apollon the water is potable! The tap water is not potable in whole Naxos. Only in some places. We have for you water bottles to take with you tap water to avoid buying plastic.
