
Orange season again!!! You can use them for panettone or to decorate cakes or desserts like a mouse in a glass! Or even in cocktails!
You can use the peels after eating the oranges or after making a juice!
Ingredients
- peels from 2 oranges – approximately 160gr
- 180gr sugar
- 180gr water
- 60gr sugar
Steps
- Cut the peels in stripes
- Add them in boiling water and simmer them for 30 minutes
- Through away this water
- Add the 180gr sugar, 180gr water and the peels again in a pot and let them boil for 30 minutes
- Remove the peels from the syrup and add them in the 60gr sugar
- Place them in a rack to dry
- They will need 2-3 days to dry
HINT! Do not throw away the syrup! You can use it to serve a dessert or use it in a cake that needs syrup!
