How to find a sheltered/leeward (without wind) beach on an island

We normally use windy to check the wind. Here what it looks like at Naxos and below the link to the page with actual data:

It is fairly easy to find on an island a beach without wind, if you know how to interpret the wind. Let´s take the upper picture as an example.

In Apollon you would be also protected with such a wind. Let´s zoom in! When you zoom in, you can see alsos the elevation which is needed, cause the beach is protected in case it is lower than the inland “behind”/so where the wind comes from.

In Apollon you would be protected with such a wind cause the village is a bit elevated. This kind of wind wouldn´t affect a lot this beach.

Let´s check the same moment also Aformoi or wild beach:

Aformoi or wild beach would also be fine for a swim! Here is clear the elevation of the ground.

Check out then Aformoi beach since it was our example beach!

Here you can give a look to Aformoi or wild beach on a video from Summer 2021.

Here you have some links to check the average wind in Aegean sea
