Depending on the dripper you like to brew, you might have to dial in a different grind setting. Here are some basic brewers and recommended grind size.
According to Acaia these are the ideal grind size in microns for pour over or drip coffee is 600-800 microns.
- V60 – medium/fine like table salt: Its conical shape gives fast drainage, therefore having a grind size towards fine, you slow down the brew and you can control your extraction better.
- Chemex – medium/coarse: Here the filters are thick and are restricting the flow. With a coarser grinding you can steer clear from bitterness and over-extraction.
- Kalita wave – medium: Its conical shape provides slower drainage, therefore going towards medium grind you get an equilibrium between extraction and over-extraction.
- Origami – medium to medium/fine: With a conical filter a finer grinding will give you slower drainage but with a wavy filter better to go coarser since the flat bottom will restrict your flow.

The settings for selected manual coffee grinders would be:
- K-Ultra: 80-90 clicks
- ZP6: 40-50 clicks
- 1Zpresso: https://1zpresso.coffee/grind-setting/
But in this website you have a table with many different grinders: https://honestcoffeeguide.com/pour-over-grind-size/
15-20 g of coffee per person for pour over is absolutely fine and for 2 people a V-60 cup would require for example 36g of coffee. But you could use up to 40g for 2 people.
Water ratio for pour over: 1:14-1:16
