Bulgur is a relatively fast dish to make especially after coming late from work. You can have it just with vegetables but this is an alternative with chicken but it needs a bit more collaboration.
Ingredients
- 3-4 chicken legs
- 1 onion
- 2 carrots
- 2 espresso cups bulgur
- 1/2 tomato in cubes
- salt
- pepper
- dried basil
- sage
Preparation
- Fry the onion and before it get completely ready add 1 carrot in slices
- When the onion and the carrot are ready remove them from the pan and add the chicken in the pan with the second carrot in slices
- Turn the chicken in all its sides until it seems done and add a bit of salt and pepper in each side
- Turn also the carrot otherwise it will get burnt
- Remove the chicken from the pan and add again the onion with the carrot
- Add the 2 cups of bulgur, 4 cups of water and the sage
- The bulgur I use needs 7 minutes in low fire with the lid, so I cook the bulgur with the cup for 3 minutes and then I add the chicken, the tomato cubes and the basil
- I let it in low fire for 4 more minutes.
- Serve warm
