Sifones, the abandoned naxian village

This abandoned village is close to Keramoti village (where the hiking for the Rutsuna’s waterfall starts – our post is linked in the end of the post) and an approximately 30 minutes drive from Apollon. On your way there, you could make a short stop where the blue arrow above is and enjoy the wonderful view of Aegean Sea and the small Greek islands. Try to guess which islands you can see!

You can definitely call Sifones a ghost village since for more than 40 years no one lived there. You can still though see clear remnants of the house and you can take a look in our video below.

There is also a chapel dedicated to Saint George and it is still used from time to time.
