It is quite easy to plant salad seeds, even in pots in small balconies. You can harvest the exterior and big leaves and let the plant grow more and give you more and more salad.
If you have canaries is almost a must! Then you know what are you feeding your lovely bird and you do not have to worry, how the salad was taken care till it arrived to the shop. A couple of plants would be enough for a canary or two, but it is recommended to have different salads then!
They have cute small flowers and they blossom early in spring!
