Kurambiedes – greek Christmas almond and snowed cookies

Ingredients

  • 40gr powdered sugar
  • 100gr butter
  • 17ml rum or cognac
  • 200gr flour
  • 1/2 small spoon baking powder
  • 1/2 small spoon vanilla
  • 40gr almonds without the skin,  baked in the oven and smash them with a mortar and pestle

Steps

  • Mix very well the sugar and the butter. At least 10 minutes
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well
  • Make 20 small balls and place them on a baking paper
  • Preheat your oven in 165 degrees and bake them for approximately 20min! Be careful cause they must remain white on top! They should not get color in the oven. If you see them getting color before, lower the temperature and let them a tiny bit longer inside!
