Kritharaki (greek orzo) with mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 2 onions
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 7-8 fresh mushrooms
  • 100gr of tomato sauce
  • olive oil
  • salt
  • pepper
  • kritharaki for 2 people (around 250gr)

Steps

  • Heat the olive oil in a pan and add the chopped onion and garlic
  • When the onion is transparent, I remove the garlic
  • Add the mushrooms and let them cook properly
  • Add the wine and mix till your ingredients are dry
  • Add the kritharaki and the tomato sauce and start adding a bit of boiling water every time the water finishes. We are cooking this a bit like a risotto
  • When the kritharaki is done, give it a couple of minutes in the pan before you serve it
