Eggless Pasta Flora – Crostata – Pasta Frolla – with wholewheat flour!

Ingredients

  • 110gr margarine
  • 110gr sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • zest from 1 lemon
  • 150ml water
  • 410gr whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • The marmalade of your choice or hazelnut cream or… use your imagination

Steps

  • Use a hand mixer to mix the margarine with the sugar, lemon zest and the salt.
  • Add slowly a small quantity of flour and then water and continue like this, till you have a nice mix that is not sticky
  • Cut 200gr of dough that will be used later for the stripes
  • Add a bit of flour on a surface and roll the dough
  • Butter the baking pan and place your rolled dough
  • Add the marmalade on the dough
  • Roll also the 200gr of dough and cut in stripes
  • Decorate as you wish
  • Bake in preheated oven in 180 degrees Celcious till it is golden (around 30 minutes)

I used a 30cm baking pan, cause I prefer the pasta flora when it is thin. You could make it in a smaller baking pan and the pie will be thicker.
