Super sweet hedgehogs – Cake decoration

Ingredients

  • pears (each pear makes 2 hedgehogs – try not to use very stiff pears cause this will make it very difficult to add the almonds)
  • almonds slivered
  • raisins (for the eyes – you could also use tiny pieces of chocolate)
  • cherries or grapes or whole raisins (for the nose)
  • lemon
  • optional hazelnut creme (to use it to feel the “hole” of the core)

Steps

  • Clean and peel the pears
  • Cover them with lemon juice, so that they do not get darker
  • If you are using the hazelnut creme, add it in the “hole” and put the pear upside down directly on your cake to start putting the almonds. You must be delicate from now on, in order not to destroy the cake with the pressure to add the slivered almonds
  • If you skip the hazelnut creme, you can prepare the hedgehogs on a dish and add them later on the cake.
  • Add the slivered almonds like in the fotos
  • Cut the raisins in 4 for the eyes
  • This would be the perfect moment to add them on the cake
  • Add in the end the nose with whatever you choose: cherry, grape or raisin
