Sourdough pizza

I always give this pizza a whole night resting time to gain more flavor but once that I let it rest only a couple of hours was still very tasty.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sourdough starter
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 1/3 cup flour
  • salt

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven in the maximum
  • Mix the starter and the warm water and in the end add the flour
  • Let it rest around 8 hours
  • When you are ready to roll the pizza, add the salt and knead it a few times
  • Add flour to your surface before you roll it and if the dough is a bit wet you can add flour. We like it crispy and thin, so the dough is not at all sticky when I make ours. If you want it a bit more elastic, your dough should be not that dry in the end like mine in the fotos.
  • When you add the pizzas lower your oven in 200 Celcius and bake it until it get crispy at the edges. In my oven it needs between 12 to 15 minutes

When the pizzas are ready you can let them rest a bit in the baking sheet and I prepare a quick tomato sauce, that you can find in our blog!

Tips

Of course you can add different flours, like whole wheat or even more special like carob.

Our second favorite after only tomato sauce is with Burrata and then with Mozzarella.
