Very quick tomato sauce

It is better to let your tomato sauce cook more time than this recipe here, but if you are in a hurry, this will definitely do the job! Even without soffritto.

Ingredients

  • 1 small onion
  • olive oil
  • 1/3 of a can chopped tomatoes
  • 4 spoons beer or wine (optional)
  • sugar
  • salt
  • fresh herbs or dried herbs

Preparation

  • Add the olive oil warm up in medium/high temperature in a frying pan and add the onion till golden
  • Add the beer or the wine, let it simmer and then add your tomato from the can
  • Add a bit of water in the can so that you can take profit of all the tomato juice that didn´t go out in the first time.
  • Let it cook at least 7 minutes until it is not anymore liquid but has the texture of a sauce.
  • When it is ready stop the fire and add salt and your herbs. I added fresh basil and oregano

Add it wherever you please! This tomato sauce was for my morning sourdough pizza that you can find the recipe in our blog!
